About Josh

Josh Gray is a Perth-based guitarist and upright bass player, and a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), completing his Jazz studies in 2025.

He has performed in a wide range of projects over the years, spanning jazz, folk, country, and swing. Josh currently leads his own Guitar Trio, blending original compositions with well-known jazz standards. He plays upright bass with the Jon Cope Celtic Country Band, performs in the Australian folk duo Warralakin, and plays guitar in the country group The Luca Gatti Unit.

Throughout his career, Josh has had the opportunity to perform with renowned artists including Melissa Aldana (NYC), Paul Grabowsky (AUS), and Fred Smith (AUS). He has performed extensively across Australia, as well as internationally in London, Belfast, and Germany.

Introduced to music at the age of eight by his father, Josh has since immersed himself in a variety of creative projects, performing at festivals, bars, and functions.

In November of 2025, he released his debut album, The Time Between, showcasing his compositional voice and approach to contemporary jazz. The album is available at:
